Prisoner 18376 - Father Arseny

Why the name 18376?

18376 is the prison number assigned to political prisoner Father Arseny, an Orthodox Priest and spiritual father in the Soviet Union (Russia). Father Arseny was arrested by the secret police of communist Russia for his Christian activities and sent to a work camp in Siberia. There he accepted his cross with joy and continued to minister to the people who God placed in his path.
With love, Father Arseny would pray for, care for, and feed even those who treated him harshly. He was courageous in his defense of the weak and feared no one. He stood prayerfully strong infront of murderers, criminals, and the guards. Father Arseny was the very embodyment of Chrsitian love.
Prior to his arrest, he was a Priest-monk and an Art Historian. He is a great patron saint of not only artists, but for all modern men and women. Though he lived in our modern world, he was not of our world. He was of the heavenly realm while still with us here on earth.

Father Arseny, pray to God for us!
